Jarrod & Rawlins

Shoutout to my dear Fei : HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY BOY!

This time around, we celebrated Fei's birthday at this place called Jarrod & Rowlins located at Damansara Heights.

Jarrod & Rawlins

Seriously, love the food & environment. One of my favourite dining-chill-out-style kind of restaurant. Although the price might be slightly higher but at least what u enjoyed is worth it. =) A reminder to all, please reserved a table before heading here because it is usually packed and most of them wont just eat and leave. That night, we are lucky to have a section on the second floor by ourselves!

I won't mind going there for the second time. Maybe when the burnt in my pocket starts to heal first. LOL! If ur kind enough to bring me there....... thank you in advance. HAHAHA! Alright, its always a sin to post pics of food during the middle of the night when i am feeling hungry.......... hmmph! Guess i'll just have to suffer for a few minutes.

Someone helpful and cheerful is the two main words that comes in my mind when i think of u. Your suggestions always come in handy when we reached bottleneck and i really appreciate all those effort u put in planning and making all our outing plans goes smoothly. I know somehow, u are a good listener too. You never let us down and it's a pleasure having u as a best friend. Happy birthday fei. <3

Happy Winter Solstice

Tang Yuan

This is another prove showing that i'm a year older! Aiks. Better rephrase it as another year wiser! Hahaha... I remember there is a saying that you have to eat the number of "tang yuan" according to ur age. Thank goodness i'm still like 22 but nah....... i didn't follow the tradition. Just eat as much as i want! Woke up early this morning to help my dad with the ball rolling. LOL~ Now its time to eat it. Yay!

"Dong Zhi Kuai Le" to all my friends. Best wishes to all of you~

This Is How We Spell Random

Ahh! Seriously i'm getting used of going on spontaneous day trips! Lol~ Especially budget ones. Hehe! This time around, the "fabulous 5" (this is what my buddy tagged us as) drove down to the south part of Malaysia - Batu Pahat, Johor to hunt for good foods!

Lunch at Kwan Kee Coffeeshop.

Beef Noodle

After lunch, we made a quick pit-stop at Tracey's aunty house. Rested & had a short karaoke session. Lol~ But to be honest, most of the time we're busy with our phones.

Caught in Action

Aiks! Cracking our heads where to hang out next...... because Batu Pahat is just really a small town without any tourist attraction!!! So guess where we ended up at?

Based on Wikipedia, the name of Batu Pahat means "chiselled rock" in Malay and it is said that during the 15th century, Siamese invaded this village of Kampung Minyak Beku to get some fresh water. The ancient well can still be found at Kampung Minyak Beku and we actually went searching for it after quenching our thirst!

Coconut

Here we are at Pantai Minyak Beku!

My Favorite Shot of the Day

 Just a Prove

By the time we leave, our tummy is making so much noise. Time for dinner! Muahahaaaa.... We drove all the way down hill accompanied by drizzle to a place called the SEASIDE. Awesome hawker stalls delicacy to satisfy all! We ordered a variety of foods to try on....... just simply delicious omg!

 Ice Kacang

Bubur Chacha

Poh Piah

Mix Fried Stuffs

Satays

Ikan Bakar

Rojak

Fried Oyster with Egg

Roasted Chicken Wings

Basically, this is by far my most relaxing trip ever. Hours of chit-chatting and we even went for a movie at the shopping mall. Ok, i refused to speak a word about it. End. Wait......... i do have something to say. The movie SUCK. But watching it with this bunch of lovelies..... ahh! Can't help but smile. =) *shake head*

We stayed over for a night at Crystal Inn and woke up early to stroll along the morning market. Hahaha... again, what can stop us from a breakfast heaven??!!

Treasure Hunts

Before heading back to Subang Jaya, we decided to drop by Muar for its famous Otak-Otak! Yummy! Giving me another reason to love my hometown. Lol~

Muar - Wai Sek Gai

Otak-otak

Chicken Rice

Definitely a trip to be remembered. Maybe not the gaining weight part...... aiks! Just glad that the five of us manage to make it this time around. To the other five (Jess, Ben, Philip, Msze & Sian), we miss u all. Let's make the dream of having our perfect 10 trip again come true ok? *hugs*

Ipoh Day Trip

A spontaneous road trip all the way from Petaling Jaya to Ipoh on a fine Saturday morning with my bunch of uni-lovelies! I still remember each and every bits of what happened in the car with Quinn, Esther & Bee. I can't help but giggle right now. XD

The eight of us started our journey around 6am with our tummies already making noises asking us to satisfy them A.S.A.P.! hahaha..... Without wasting much time, the FIRST stop of the day here we come....

1 - Ming Court Hong Kong Dim Sum

Located off Jalan Leong Sin Nam, this dim sum restaurant is definitely a must-try. I personally preferred the dim sum at Ming Court compared to Foh San (tried there during my trip to Penang). Maybe because it tasted like the ones in USJ 21 so i'm a little bias over it. Hahaha....

Yummilicious Dim Sum

After this heavy breakfast, we realised we totally have no idea where to hang out next. Definitely too soon for another round of Ipoh-food but no worries. With the help of smart phones and gps, searching for the next  few destinations..... not exactly a problem! Lol~

2 - Sam Poh Tong

Bee, Esther, Rachel, Me & Su-Ann

A famous cave temple located in Gunung Rapat which is said to be the biggest cave temple in our country. It was actually pretty amazing how this temple is build but sigh! Disappointing because this place is lack of maintenance.

Tunnel to Japanese Pond

I thought it would be a great visiting this so called Japanese pond full of Japanese carps and tortoises but NO! It is so DIRTY! Ewwwwww...... Rubbish all over the floor, chairs and even the pond! Gah~ No wonder its not a tourist attraction anymore.

Symbols of Longevity

With Baby

Loves

Such a waste because it could really be a nice place if it was well taken care of. Well, just cam-whored for a little while and we headed off to the next cave!

3 - Perak Tong

Another cave temple! I wonder why are there so many cave temples in Ipoh itself. Placed at Jalan Kuala Kangsar, this temple actually houses over 40 Buddha statues!

Mural Paintings

Ok, in order to have a better view of the surrounding...... we have to climb 385 steps up the stairs!!!! (i didn't count the steps alright.... i google it)

Stairs  ♥

Climbing up is not much of a problem for me but OMG! Its the way down that is freaking me out. Fyi, i'm scared of heights. Looking down a spiral stairs do me more harm than good. FML~ But it was worthwhile la going up together with the bunch!

 One & Only Group Pixie

Guess stairs climbing digested all our dim sums and its time for thirst quenching session!

4 - Big Tree Foot Roadside Hawker

This place is famous of the Yong Tau Foo stall but i think the drinks there are just perfect for the hot weather!
As i'm not really a big fan of Yong Tau Foo, i tried the Asam Laksa instead. Not bad.... not as good as the Penang's though but can give it a try. However, if u are a someone who is particular about hygiene, i suggest u be prepared for the dusts and falling leaves while indulging in ur food. Hahaha.....

Mix Fruits Ice Blended

Dragon Fruit Juice

Fruits Rojak

Asam Laksa

Yong Tau Foo

Right after our lunch break, we drove to....... SURPRISE! Another cave. (wow right?) Hahaha....

5 - Kek Lok Tong

Main Entrance

The cave of Ultimate Happiness. Of all the cave temples that we visited, i enjoyed this the most. Few reasons contributed to it. I remembered the quiet and cooling breeze there and how we jokingly said we should camp there during our study week. Lol~

After walking through the cave, it emerge to a HUGE garden! Fascinating!

 Eyes Opening View

Although lots of mosquito bites, we still spent our time chit-chatting there before the next pit-stop to the awesome Tau Fu Fah!

6 -  Funny Mountain Tau Fu Fah

We were told that this is a must-try in Ipoh. True indeed! One bowl each is not enough for us. Besides having tau fu fah on this small little pink bowl (most of the guys can finished it in seconds), u can also try the soyabean drink either warm or cold.

Owhh..... Hello, Tau Fu Fah

With Fei at the Bench

As it is just a small corner shop, there are only few benches outside for us to sit. Most of the regular customers just stop their car in front of the shop, ordered and eat in the car. So cool...... Just like drive-thru!

7 - Nam Heong Old Town White Coffee

So, we finally tried this original Old Town White Coffee in Ipoh! Well, this shop actually sells other hawker food for example Fried Kuey Teow, Curry Prawn Mee and many many more!

Fried Kuey Teow (delicious!)

Curry Prawn Mee

Egg Tarts

Let's get back to the white coffee part. Thumbs-up! The coffee taste is way thicker and aromatic compared to the rest of the franchise around the country. I'm a regular customer of O.T.K. and i really love this! Not to mention the price of a glass of white coffee ice is less than half of what i had to pay at other places. Tsk!

My Favourite White Coffee

8 - Ipoh "Nga Choy Gai"

Apologies guys! I can't recall which restaurant we ended up for our final stop of the trip. I think we took some time thinking whether to dine at Lou Wong or Ong Kee. Hahaha! But i guess both shops are almost similar. It comes back down on the taste of each individual.

"Nga Choy Gai"

That's all for a day trip at Ipoh! To all my uni-lovelies, enjoy ur holiday back at ur respective hometown! Take care and till we meet again when class reopens! Miss u guys~

Xoxo.
