Bloated in Sibu - Chapter 3/4

Tummy wasn't feeling well today. Sigh~ I don't usually get fever / flu but my stomach forever giving me huge problem. *grumpy* Hopefully it will be gone soon. Continue with the previous post, it is the 3rd day at Sibu. We woke up slightly early as we know we had so much food to try on. Aiyaaa... Totally mess up our usual diet.

Breakfast was at this famous coffeeshop with no name. Yea, i was wondering how could a shop actually open or registered if there is no name for it. But i wouldn't care much as i can see it's crowded with people! Food served here is yummy especially the mix-pork-with-egg-and-wine-soup (猪肝蛋汤). Trust me, you will love it unless you are not a fan of pork intestines / liver.

#1 - Mee goreng basah (Wet fried mee)

#2 - Kuey teow goreng basah (Wet fried kuey teow)

#3 - The awesome 猪肝蛋汤 (mix-pork-with-egg-and-wine-soup )

#4 - 糟菜粉干 (some vegetable mee soup)

After our heavy breakfast, we went to Ta Fatt Trading Co and check out the making of "gong pia". These plain "gong pia" can either be eaten straight from the oven or fried & stuff with minced pork. There's another way of eating it, which is dipped in sauce. Whichever way, it's still yummy!

#5 - The making of "gong pia"

Munching some take away "gong pia", we stopped at the nearby Lau King Howe Hospital Memorial Museum. Decided to go for a tour inside even though it looks slightly haunted. Hahaha! Oh well, anything do with memorial sounds spooky right? But inside the museum was neat and tidy. Quite a lot of interesting hospital equipments were displayed. I think we spent a long time inside the museum, fascinated by the olden days medical technologies. The entrance is F.O.C. by the way. You could give donation tho. =)

Ok, next 2 stops are all about food again. Don't judge. We walked a lot inside the museum and it's lunch time anyway. Lol~

#13 - Gong pia dipped in sauce

#14 - Lunch @ 老地方 (old place)??? Just some normal chinese dishes. Nothing special about this place. Had pork ribs, vegetables, butter prawns & sizzling hot plate tau foo.

As soon as we finished our filling lunch, we drove all the way like 30 minutes to a place called One Malaysia Cultural Village. With no high expectation, we still ended up disappointed. Hmmph~ What we had in mind was at least there will be some introduction and useful information about different races in our country but sadly no. Not only it's under maintenance, the whole concept of this village seems pretty pointless. What they have is only huts of several cultures which look similar to each other. Sigh~ I really hope this place will be improve and more effort will be put into this project as i can see a huge budget has been dumped here.

Fuhh~ Did i mentioned how hot is the weather? I think i did. Somewhere. But still i'm going to say this again, freaking hot sun indeed. So, what first thing that comes to your mind other than cold ice drink? Without further ado, we headed to a vegetarian restaurant called 大同居冰品点心城. Sorry i had to put chinese name because most shops in Sibu are only in Mandarin. Here, we get large bowl of snowflakes! Slurrpppp. Not bad... Plenty of flavors to choose from the menu.

#25 - Strawberry snowflakes

#26 - Coconut snowflakes

Right after that, we voted to go for one last round of dessert before detour back to Rach's home. So, we had our tea break at Tanahmas Hotel. Yup, we went to a hotel for cakes. And honestly speaking, no regrets paying. Both cakes are delicious especially the hotel's monthly special, water chestnut cheese cake. Do give it a try!!

#27 - Cakes at Tanahmas Hotel

Who would have thought we can still manage to get ready for dinner after a couple hours of break? Rach's mum joined us for dinner that night so we opt for a more fancy dinner at Tom's Too and after dinner session at Maple Leaf Fusion Cafe to try out the popular fried durian cake. Of course i place no interest at the durian cake. Whether fried or non-fried. Whole night was busy praying that they don't burp happily anywhere near me. Haha!

#28 - Tom's Too ambiance, was nice and comfortable...

#29 - Tom's Too food, on the other hand was merely average in my opinion

#30 - Maple Leaf Fusion Cafe

#36 - Instax love!

Yup, that's basically how we spent our 3rd day at Sibu. So much food am i right? Only one day left to complete my post on this trip. Yawns.... feeling drowsy now at quater past 3 in the morning. Time to hit the sack! Good night all...

Xoxo.
